About Blackdome Mine
Overview
Blackdome Mine is a historic gold-silver project located in southwestern British Columbia, with a well-documented production history and established geological setting.
Location & Setting
The property is situated approximately 230 kilometres north of Vancouver and 100 kilometres south of Williams Lake, within the Clinton Mining Division. Spanning approximately 34,794 hectares, the project lies within the Camelsfoot Mountain Range near the summit of Blackdome Mountain, at elevations between 1,760 and 2,050 metres.
Access to the site is typically achieved via Clinton or Williams Lake, connecting through Dog Creek and the Churn Creek Bridge, placing the project within a known and accessible mining region of British Columbia.
Geological Context
Blackdome Mountain is an extinct volcanic feature located along the southwestern edge of the Cariboo Plateau. The area is associated with an epithermal gold-silver system, with mineralization hosted in quartz veins containing native gold, electrum, native silver, silver sulphosalts, and associated sulphide minerals.
This geological setting has historically supported both exploration and commercial production within the region.
Project History
Exploration activity in the area dates back to the 1960s, when prospectors and collectors were drawn to the region in search of agate, jasper, thundereggs, and precious metals. These early efforts contributed to the identification of the Blackdome gold-silver system.
The Blackdome Mine operated commercially between 1986 and 1991, producing over 6,300 kilograms of gold and 19,000 kilograms of silver. Following the cessation of mining operations, the property has undergone multiple phases of exploration, evaluation, and technical work, including drilling and geotechnical studies.
Current Position
Today, the Blackdome Mine is recognized as a historic producer with established infrastructure, documented production, and continued exploration interest. The project remains positioned within a well-known mining district, supporting ongoing assessment of its potential for future development.
